EARLY SHOWA (1926-1938) PURPLE SHIBORI HAORI WITH YOKOBIKI KANOKO FAN DESIGN The silk for this lovely haori is woven in a fine lightweight cloth. The tie-dye pattern is made up of square ring dots called yokobiki kanoko. Using this tie the artist created a design of fans. The tie dyed rings are somewhat irregular in size and form. In this haori the shibori dots are pressed flat. The jacket is completely lined in a sheer delicate pink silk. The haori has its original ties. The ties have metallic gold woven into them. The gold metallic thread has transferred onto the pink silk in a couple of places. But this does not show on the outer garment. The outer haori is in great condition.
