TAISHO ERA (1912- 1926) SHIBORI HON HITTA KANOKO PATTERN ON RINZU SILK The lightweight silk for this haori is woven in a damask pattern known as coiled thunder. The damask pattern includes a floral motif as well. The white squares with dots are known as hon hitta kanoko meaning dots within squares. These sit on a background of purple damask. The tie dyed design on the damask is very effective. The haori is lined in scarlet with resist dyed patterns in white and pink. The haori is in good condition.
