EARLY SHOWA (1926-1938) RED SHIBORI HAORI WITH YOKOBIKI KANOKO PLUM BLOSSOM DISIGN The silk for this lovely haori is woven in a fine lightweight cloth. The tie-dye pattern is made up of square ring dots called yokobiki kanoko. Using this tie the artist created a design of plum blossoms and abstract patterns. It is an unusual design. The ties dyed rings are somewhat irregular in size and form, creating a casual effect. In this haori the shibori dots are pressed flat. The haori has one black spot on the shoulder its about the size of a orange seed. It does not detract form its beauty. The jacket is completely lined in an interesting faux shibori design.
