TAISHO ERA (1912-1926) PURPLE AND PINK HAORI WITH KOBOSHI SHIBORI PATTERN AND GRADATION DYED

The silk for this haori is lightweight. It has been gradation dyed in purple and pink. The haori is also decorated in a tie-dye technique called shibori. The purple dots on a graded field of pink are created in a koboshi or small cap tie. In addition a large section of purple is decorated in a white koboshi design that looks like a floral motif. Please notice the extra length on this beauty. The haori is fully lined. The lining in the bodice is sheer silk and the sleeve is lined in a newer printed silk. There are some light stains in the lining but these do not show on the outer garment. This lovely haori has the drape and feel of antique silk. Dimensions: from sleeve tip to sleeve tip 48”wide x 35” long, sleeves 22” long
